IslandTransfer is not an anonymous app. It is a small, growing network of Phuket locals — started by a local family — where every driver is personally vetted before they take their first booking.
How we vet every driver
Personally known first
We did not scrape a driver database. This network started with family and long-time friends who have driven Phuket professionally for years.
Licensed & legal — verified
Every driver holds a Thai public transport driving licence and drives a registered public-service (yellow plate) vehicle. We check the documents ourselves.
Face and name on record
Drivers who join us agree to show their real name, photo and vehicle. You always know exactly who is picking you up — before they arrive.
Accountable, every trip
Late arrivals lower a driver’s standing. No-shows mean suspension. Anything dishonest means permanent removal. Simple rules, strictly applied.

Before every trip you receive your assigned driver’s real name, photo, vehicle photo and licence plate — so the person at arrivals is never a stranger.
Why this matters in Phuket
Most visitors’ worst Phuket stories start the same way: an unmarked car, a price that changed on arrival, a driver nobody could contact afterwards. We built IslandTransfer to be the opposite of that story.
Because our drivers are local and known to us personally, they are accountable in a way no anonymous platform driver can be. And because they keep more of the fare than big platforms allow (we take a fair 10%, not 25–30%), they have every reason to take care of you — you are their reputation.
